Employers in the IT industry most likely increasing staff
Crescent Recruitment are working with many South Island ICT and Engineering firms and the market is extremely busy with high demand for Project Managers, Software Developers and Project Engineers, indicating that a huge wave of new projects are in the planning and just about to kick off.
Due to the pressure on the local employment market and high demand for people across the board, Employers are also much more prepared to look at candidates arriving from outside New Zealand within the next few months in order to get ‘ready to go’ skills and experience. In particularly high demand are Front End Developers, full stack developers as well as high end QA Engineers with Automation experience. Within the engineering industry there seems to be a distinct lack of sales and sales support engineers as well as strong project engineers. The Australian market has still not picked up so there appears to be a good source of candidates wanting to move across the ditch to find their next career opportunity in NZ.
As the European market comes under pressure from immigration waves and terrorism attacks the mind-set of people has diverted to moving further afield and we expect the number of highly qualified immigrants to NZ to increase drastically over the next few years.
Many of our local clients are also struggling to find top end ICT and Engineering Graduates for their Graduate intake programme with vacancies remaining unfilled.
