Each year, IBM conducts a survey across New Zealand to find out which companies have the happiest employees. Every single employee from each participating company is given the opportunity to complete the survey, where they rate their agreement/disagreement with various comments relating to: overall work environment, direct manager’s competencies, senior management engagement, feedback on core values, etc. The results are then compared by percentage of total employees that completed the survey and the overall satisfaction displayed though their agreement (or disagreement) of the comments throughout.

The survey gives companies a streamlined, and externally managed, method of gauging employee’s satisfaction with their own company as well as a platform for benchmarking against other NZ companies of similar size.

All participating companies fall into one of five categories; Enterprise (750+ Employees), Large (400-749), Medium-Large (150-399), Small-Medium (50-149) and Small (20-49).
